It is recommended that pregnant women with gestational diabetes accumulate 150 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity per week, spread over at least three days. Physical activity decreases insulin resistance, meaning that sugar can easily enter the body’s cells rather than accumulate in the blood. Consequently, physical activity promotes the control of diabetes by reducing blood sugar levels.   

The recommendations for physical activity during pregnancy

Physical activity offers several benefits for pregnant women. It is recommended that one participates in at least 150 minutes of physical activity each week, spread out over at least three days.
