A mother who decides to observe Ramadan should be alert to signs of dehydration, poor weight gain and health problems, and needs to pay special attention to fetal growth.
Pregnant women should make sure to inform her doctor and other health professionals, such as nutritionists, when she decides to fast for Ramadan. The table below describes some symptoms that a pregnant woman may experience due to fasting and what to do in such cases.
